This time, I learned that there is no need to play as many games as you want in order to have a very fun class. Somehow, I am learning my very own touch for the classes. You all know that when it is about creativity, I am the worst hahaha. Anyways, I tried to make a good impression, but I still do not know if it worked. I think I will see that next class. I am very comfortable with this group too. I know they are learning, but they look like they do and really do want to learn. In class, I worked with some reading activities, and they can read very well, but they still need to practice. The most noticeable mistake I had (Well, the only one I could see by myself) was that I did not realize that the reading was only for reading comprehension. I used it to make them read a loud. Despite that, they did a very good job, and they show that they can improve anytime. I could have the entire hour to teach, and somehow, it made me feel even more comfortable because I had a little bit more of freedom to develop the activities.
Well, this is it for now. I wait for your comments.

Well mister Centeno, I'd like to add that the teacher gives his hallmark to his students. Sometimes (almost always) the group attitude depends on teacher attitude and it is more that real that it is not necessary to play and make a lot of noise to get a fun class. Everyone has its own seal and you will discover and transmit yours!
ResponderEliminarGet fun dude!
Every group has its differences, but most of them are very participative and curious to know more. As you said in your comment, it is not necessary to have a lot of games in order to have your students learning. Sometimes a simple activity can help them to learn. Mistakes will always occur, so keep in mind that we are getting experience and it is normal to have a mistake.
ResponderEliminarHello Gustavo!!!..
ResponderEliminarWell as Marvin just mentioned, everyone has its own touch in a class. Regarding to the comment of making the class without those noisy activities, I agree because the point is to make students work and practice the target language; for doing so, you, as the facilitator, make the class interesting, not the activities.
Nice work my friend
It´s good to know you are getting your own touch in this enterprise. All groups are different. The only thing they are alike is their learning appetite.
ResponderEliminarYou have a good point when you speak about games,I think they are helpful as a warm-up but we have to be careful not to saturate the class with them.
The best part of this experience is that you felt comfortable managing your activities with enough time.
I`m totally in agreement with your reference to the creativity part jajajajaja just kidding my dear, you are so right when mention that it is not necessary to bring a lot of games for every single session, but remember that depending on how your personal touch is, in that way you will feel comfortable with the different activities you bring. I`m in agreement with the fact that there is nothing more useful for you in the classroom that the students attitude, because with all the elements together, for sure the goal will be reached...so go on my dear friend!!!!
ResponderEliminarHello Mr. Centeno!!
ResponderEliminarI'm going to comment your blog just because I don't want that little cat get a shot! :S :)
First of all, congratulations because it seems as if you are really taking advantage of your experience as a practitioner since you tend to analyze your groups and the activities you developed as well as you have tried to be original by doing the things to your own way, without forgetting to reflect on your own mistakes to improve. Pretty great!
Well, about the class, establishing rapport is very important, so asking ss for their names it’s primordial because they feel as if you really want to know them as well as when you greet them, they feel as if you really care about them; thus, they will be more likely to participate in your class.
As you said, it’s not necessary to developed many games to have a fun class since that depends on your enthusiasm, positive attitude and the confidence you give to your ss to create a nice environment in the class.
All in all, it’s really nice to know that you have a nice group and that you feel comfortable with them.
Blessings :)
